My New Fave

Sooo I have a new favourite website, pursebuzz.com. This tight Asian chick made a bunch of videos about how to do different hair and makeup styles. She makes everything seem really simple and usually uses inexpensives products and tells you where to buy all the stuff. I don't know why I have never heard of this website before but it's really cool so all you girlies should check it out. Anyway I posted the link under my BUDS section.

Just some funny shit proving how stupid some Americans are...
So I was watching Pimp My Ride the other day (there was nothing else on) and this dumb bitch pulls a tape out of her tape deck. The conversation with Xzibit following this action is as follows:

Xzibit: Tony Campolo....who is that?
Girl: He's a pastor.
Xzibit: Ohh he's a pastor. Are you religious?
Girl: No I'm not religious no, I'm Christian though.
Xzibit: There's a difference?
Girl: Yes there is a difference.

WOW. If Jessica Simpson said something like that the media would have a hay day.
Well anyway I got a crack out of this episode. Here's the link to the clip. The actual part starts about 1:18 from the end of the first clip.

The Blue Jean Blues

Ok, so it's been said that Kate Moss started the skinny jean fad. Once fashion-conscious Londoners picked up on the trend, she quickly ditched the skinnies and has been seen rocking the new wide-leg look.

Apparently the look is really catching on in Europe, but to be honest I can't see myself pulling it off! I don't wanna give up my skinnies :( Ugh what to do, what to do...

Makin it Rain

How cool is making it rain really?? To quote a very smart man:

"She said: why in the club you don't make it precipitate/ you know make it rain when you can make it thunderstorm/ I'm like why, the world needs sun/ the hood needs funds/ there's a war going on and half the battle is guns/ how dare I throw it on the floor/ when people are poor." - Andre 3000

Although throwing away money to prove how little you really need those tiny one dollar bills may seem cool, there are much better ways to spend those hard earned dollars. I mean seriously, if you don't need that money, give it to someone who does. In the United States, there are hundreds of starving people who probably live within a few blocks of all of us and I'm sure they wouldn't dare throw their money on the floor. And in any case, I'm sure you wish you had those dollar bills back when you go bankrupt and crave a McDonald's double cheeseburger...

See ya!

The Truth About Ohio

It's not that bad!! I must admit that when my parents decided that Cleveland seemed like the ideal spot for a family vacation I was a little weary. However, when I arrived, I was overwhelmed by the city's beauty and charm. One of the first stops on our trip was, of course, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

Honestly, I didn't think the museum was going to be as good as it was...it was absolutely amazing. It was less like a museum and more like an artistic display of the evolution of music over time. The genres of music displayed included not only rock & roll, but also hip hop, r&b, gospel, pop, and much much more. I saw everything from Elvis' Cadillac to Run DMC's famous Adidas Superstars, to Jay-Z's hockey jersey. I even saw the red leather jacket from Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video! Unfortunately, photos could not be taken inside the hall, but memories will forever remain.

Another one of my adventures in Cleveland included a fishing trip on Lake Erie. The entire city sits on the great lake and it is beautiful. People were jetskiing and sailboating all over the place. The atmosphere is wonderful, however the city is not very diverse. The racial population is split down the middle between black and white, but there are not very many other racial groups. The only Asian person I saw played for the Indians, surprisingly. Despite this, there was still a cultural feel to the city as large Puerto Rican, Italian, and Greek festivals are put on every year. As for the fashion department, a certain style did not particularly jump out at me, but I could see a lot of potential if a few more streetwear stores opened up. Possible business venture anyone? I think so.

So even though Ohio doesn't sound like the greatest of vacation destinations, I would definitely suggest Cleveland for the summer. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alone makes the trip worth while. Well that's all for now! Peace out.

First and Foremost

What is a blog anyway?
Merriam-Webster defines a blog as "a web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer".
OK sounds simple right? I thought so. But when I told a good friend of mine that I was going to start a blog, they responded with....

a) you should start researching peoples blogs and get ideas of your own to help you out

b) is this gonna be a daily blog or what ?

c) how current will you be on your info?

d) is this gonna be just you doing the blog or will you have a partner or something ?

So I was like....UHHH WTF I just wanna start a freakin blog I didn't know it was so complicated. Is there a certain "je ne sais quoi" that all blogs have to have in order to be considered something more than just words on a computer screen? Well I don't know the answer to that question but I do know that life shouldn't be taken so damn seriously and neither should blogging. So basically "the it factor" can be about anything and everything. It will not solely focus on the latest fashions or what music I think is hot at the moment, as many blogs often do, but will instead take whatever jumbled thoughts I have in my head and hopefully turn them into something that will make a tad bit of sense.

Well..Enjoi!!
